Lesser-known spots that only locals tend to know about. A scooter or car rental is highly recommended — taxi fares can add up quickly.
Koh Lanta has a well-worn path — Long Beach, Kantiang, the viewpoint. Tum knows the island differently. These are the spots he sends guests to when they ask where he would actually go: a hidden cove reached through a coconut plantation, a national park lighthouse with free waterfalls on the same ticket, and a bay so beautiful he calls it his favourite beach on the island.
All four spots are within easy scooter range of the resort. None require a guide. All reward the small effort of going.

Park at Beautiful Beach, then walk a few minutes through the coconut plantation. A small, very quiet cove opens up with great sunset views. Bring a mat or inflatable for the best experience. Note: ocean trash along the shore is common in low season.

Open in Maps →Tum's personal favourite beach on the island. Park curbside and take a short hike down the hill — the view at the bottom is worth every step. Not to be confused with Nui Beach, which is a different spot entirely.
Note: rip currents have been reported here — take care when swimming. Sunsets are magnificent; plan your ride back before dark.
Open in Maps →Visit the famous lighthouse and sandy beaches inside the park. Toilets, clean showers and food vendors are all on site. If you enjoy hiking, a 50-minute trail loops around the bay through the jungle. Keep your entry ticket — it gets you into Khlong Chak Waterfall on the same day for free.
Open 08:00–17:00 · Entry 200 THB/adult
Open in Maps →Best visited May–November, especially during rainy season when the water is at full force. The waterfall itself is an easy 30-minute walk following the stream. Parking is 40 THB per scooter.
Tum's tip: the upper levels are not widely known — carefully traverse up the cliff on the right side of the main waterfall (look closely for the trail). Private natural pools and fantastic jungle ambience await at the top.
Big tip: use your Mu Ko Lanta National Park ticket for free entry on the same day.
